Grave of the Fireflies

It’s a movie title, I know, but it’s not just a movie; it’s the movie which made me cry. I never cried like that before. I really never cried like that before! I am still crying though the movie has ended 5 minutes ago. I am crying for around 20 minutes now and I am still crying!!!

Why?!!!

But it’s not why am I crying… It’s rather why she had to die? Why? Really I need someone to answer me this! Why did she die?!!! Such an innocent girl…

I can’t find the words to say, neither do I have the ability to write much now. I just ask you to watch this movie and answer me: why did the little girl die?!!!

“Why do fireflies have to die so soon?” Setsuko

This is not everything that I wanted to include in this article. I am sorry, I couldn’t finish it yesterday because I really couldn’t help but to cry. I don’t know what happened to me yesterday just because of this movie, this girl and this horrible war!!!

Anyway, the movie talks about two young orphans whose parents died and left them alone to struggle for bread and at the end they die. The movie is really very dramatic and although it might appear to everyone that it is an “antiwar” one, but the author himself declared that the point which he wanted to focus on in this movie was orphans and how society is cruel towards them to the extend that at the end of the movie “they died out of hunger!”

Isn’t that really horrible?!!!

How cruel!!!

At the end of the movie there were some subtitles wrtitten in Arabic; I don’t know whether they are translated or they are the translator’s, but they affected me very much and here they are:

Please watch the movie… I am sure you will like it 🙂

To relate, I just want to mention a situation that happened to me yesterday, just 2 hours before watching the movie: when I was on my way back home, I was standing in El-Garage station waiting for a microbus to take me home. I saw a little child who has a dark skin and is hardly walking on his foot. He has an Afro black hair and he is nearly 6 years old. He had a Miranda can which he was drinking which made me amazed الكحكه فى أيد اليتيم عجبة  . And I thought maybe someone gave it to him! “He is a beggar”,  ومن النوع الرخم اللى بيجى ويلزق . I watched him and noticed that he walks towards any family and starts doing his “job”. He hid the Miranda can behind his back and tried to beg from a family, and when they they gave him nothing, he went and throw the can away (when it was still full,) because he thought it might be an obstacle that prevents him from doing his job “well”. And he proceeded with another family!!!

At that moment, my microbus came and I had to leave…

Dignity… we don’t have?!!!

The child begs just to beg; he got used to it, not because he is hungry!!!

Japanese people have dignity, they never ask for food, except when it’s very very urgent, and if they refused, they never ask again… they die with dignity!!!

شوفتوا إحنا بنربى ولادنا على ايه وهما بيربوا ولادهم على ايه!!! ه
